This issue of Social Alternatives contains a collection of original essays by distinguished peace education scholars from four different countries. Because these contributing authors come a wide variety of different academic fields, this collection provides differing perspectives in the problems of violence and applied (sometimes activist) aspects of peace education. They represent professional and scholarly understandings and insights into the growing literature on peace education and its different applications in different real life contexts in different societies.
