This issue looks at the weaponisation of authority and misinformation: It critiques anti-democratic leaders for exploiting crises to spread misinformation, foment bigotry, and consolidate power while blaming “wokeness” and marginalised groups for societal issues. The contributions in this issue emphasise the resilience of marginalised communities and the importance of resistance against systemic oppression, including anti-racism, critical race theory, and transformative activism.
